Isaiah White Scores Career-High In UVU’s Win Over Westminster

OREM, Utah – Isaiah White scored a career-high 25 points and pulled down a career-best 13 rebounds in Utah Valley’s 72-55 season opening win over Westminster.
The victory marks the first for head coach Mark Madsen.
Westminster had a great start to the game with a 13-4 lead just six minutes into the matchup before the Wolverines 20-2 run gave them a nine-point lead towards the end of the first half.
Utah Valley had a 36-25 lead at halftime and outscored Westminster 37-29 in the second half.

Brandon Averette added 16 points, including 10 first half points, joining White as the only two Utah Valley players to reach double figures in scoring. The team shot 42 percent from the field, 25 percent from deep and just 57 percent from the free throw line.
For Westminster, Brandon Warr was the only player to score in double figures with 11 points. Former Utah Utes guard Jake Connor added 9 points.
The Wolverines improved to 1-0 on the season and will be on the road to face Denver on Saturday at 1 p.m. The game will be broadcast on Altitude.
