LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Donovan Mitchell went toe-to-toe with Kawhi Leonard and proved his NBA superstar status in Utah’s game against the Clippers in Los Angeles.
The Jazz guard was simply spectacular despite the Jazz’s 105-94 loss to the Clips on Sunday, November 3.
Mitchell went up against two-time NBA Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard and outscored the champion small forward.
The Jazz star tried to keep Utah afloat as he scored 17 points in the final quarter.

The duel between Mitchell and Leonard resulted in 30-point games for each player. The Jazz guard posted a game-high 36 points while Leonard led the Clippers with 30 points.

A major key to the star’s offensive success was his ability to get to the foul line. Mitchell was 10-14 from the free-throw stripe.
The multi-NBA champion Leonard got his own in the Clippers’ victory but the Jazz made him work all game long. Leonard was 9-26 shooting the ball including 2-8 from downtown.
While Mitchell’s superstar performance may have exceeded that of Leonard’s on Sunday evening, it wasn’t enough to put Utah on top.
Jazz offensive efficiency with Donovan Mitchell: 107.3 points per 100 possessions, which would rank tied for 12th in NBA.
Jazz offensive efficiency when he sits: 82.0, which would rank last by a whole lot.

The Jazz fell for the third time of the 2019-20 season and moved to a 4-3 record. Utah is now 1-3 in road games.
Mitchell and the Jazz have a couple of days to regroup before hosting the 76ers. Utah and Philadelphia are scheduled to tip on November 6 at 7 p.m. (MDT).
