Utes Receive Highest Ranking Of Season In Latest AP Poll

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – After their 35-0 shutout win over the California Golden Bears on Saturday night, the Utah Utes moved up three spots into the top 10 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll.
Before the win, Utah was No. 12 in the country. After some upsets around the country involving top 10 teams, Utah was able to move up to No. 9 in the poll. This is the highest ranking of the season for the Utes. Their previous high was when they were No. 10 during Week 4 before they suffered their only loss of the season to the USC Trojans on September 20.
The Oregon Ducks remain the highest ranked team in the Pac-12, moving up from No. 11 to No. 7 in the poll. In the coaches poll, Utah moved up from No. 12 to No. 10.
Utah’s next opponent, the Washington Huskies is receiving votes. The Utes and Ducks are the only ranked teams in the Pac-12. The College Football Playoff Committee will release their first rankings on Tuesday, November 5.
