SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The University of Utah Athletics Twitter account nonchalantly confirmed the date of the yearly blackout game – October 26.
On October 26 at 8:00 p.m., Kyle Whittingham and the Utes will take on the California Bears at Rice Eccles Stadium.
This would have been the blackout game but kick off is too early. You can thank the P12 Network for that. https://t.co/Iv5deSAJ3Z

The blackout game is a long-standing tradition at Utah. Last year’s blackout game came against Washington. Utah lost that game 21-7.
Suspicions had been bubbling up on Twitter that this would, in fact, be the blackout game, mainly because usually the blackout game is a late-kick, October game.
Just a wiIiIiIld guess but if I were you I'd be getting my blackout gear ready…#SpookySZN ⚫️🤡 https://t.co/3W67DiGtpG
