Utah Women’s Basketball Picked To Finish Seventh In Pac-12 Preseason Poll

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The Utah women’s basketball team was predicted to finish in seventh place in the Pac-12 preseason poll that was voted on by the 12 coaches in the conference.
They picked up 58 points, 15 behind Arizona in sixth place with 73.
For the third straight season, Oregon was voted the favorite in the Pac-12 to win the regular season title. They had 11 first place votes with the No. 2 team Stanford getting the last first place vote.

Head coach Lynne Roberts along with Dru Gylten and Kiana Moore will participate in the annual Pac-12 Women’s Basketball Media Day in San Francisco on Monday.
Oregon State was predicted to finish third, UCLA was picked fourth, Arizona State fifth, Arizona sixth, USC is behind Utah at No. 8, Washington ninth, Washington State 10th, California 11th and Colorado 12th.
During Utah’s local media day, Roberts said that this season “could be the best year we’ve had in the Pac-12.”
Utah returns six players from last year, including two seniors. The Utes also have a great recruiting class that comes in with four-star prospect Brynna Maxwell from Gig Harbor, Washington and five-star recruit Kemery Martin from Corner Canyon High School.
The Utes will play their exhibition game at the Jon M. Huntsman Center on October 31 at 11 a.m. They will open the regular season on the road against Cincinnati on November 5.
