PROVO, Utah – BYU quarterback Jaren Hall threw the ball to fellow QB, Zach Wilson on a trick play during the first quarter of Saturday’s game.
Yes, you read that right. BYU ran a trick play for a quarterback to throw the ball to another quarterback.
Wilson took the snap with just under five minutes go in the first quarter and handed the ball off and ran out of the backfield like a wide receiver. Hall received the ball off a reverse and found Wilson downfield for a first down completion.

The completion was the first of Hall’s career. It was also Wilson’s first career reception.
The throw set up a Jake Oldroyd field goal that gave the Cougars a 10-7 lead.
Bummer that the #BYU offense has to settle for 3 after the Isaiah Kaufusi INT.
A better pass from Jaren Hall could have resulted in a TD.
Nevertheless, you have to be happy with the response after falling down 7-0.
