Utah Football Previews Saturday Uniforms, Tells Fans To Wear Red

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Football asks that fans attending the Utes home opener wear red to the game.
The official Utah Football account tweeted a photo of the team’s uniform for the upcoming game on Wednesday morning and asked that fans going to the game support the team by wearing red.
The team will be wearing red tops and white bottoms with red helmets.

The Utes are wearing the same helmets and tops for the second week in a row. This will be the first time this season that the team will wear white pants.
Utah wore all red against BYU in their 30-12 victory on August 29.

Home For The Huskies
This week, Utah football plays host to the Huskies of Northern Illinois.
Northern Illinois comes to Salt Lake City with a 1-0 record. The Huskies defeated an in-state foe in Illinois State in their first game of the 2019 season. NIU won 24-10.
Northern Illinois quarterback, Ross Bowers threw for nearly 300 yards and 2 touchdowns in the win. Huskies running back, Tre Harbison carried the ball 23 times for 99 yards.
The Utes and Huskies are meeting up in the second game of the season for consecutive years. In 2018, Utah faced NIU in Illinois and came home with a 17-6 victory after senior linebacker, Chase Hansen sealed the victory by returning an interception for a touchdown with 2:36 left in the game.
Utah is currently a 95.5% favorite to win the game according to ESPN’s Football Power Index.
The teams will play on Saturday, September 7 at 11 a.m. (MDT). The game will be played at Rice-Eccles Stadium and can be viewed on the Pac-12 Network.
