No. 3 Corner Canyon Handles No. 1 Bingham Behind Bell’s Four TD’s

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The third ranked Corner Canyon Chargers had four touchdowns from Austin Bell in their dominating 56-28 victory over No. 1 Bingham.
Corner Canyon jumped out to a 34-14 lead in the first half, which was the difference. The Miners scored one touchdown in each quarter in the loss. Cole Hagen threw two touchdowns and caught a touchdown pass, Austin Bell rushed for three touchdowns and hauled in a receiving score for the Chargers. Troy Mehn had two passing and one rushing touchdown for Bingham.

Region 1
Layton 14 at Syracuse 42
After a 7-7 tie in the first quarter, Syracuse scored 21 unanswered points in the second quarter. Bridger Hamblin finished with three passing touchdowns and two on the ground. Tyler Reid scored both touchdowns for the Lancers.
Northridge 14 at Davis 44
Chance Trujillo threw three touchdowns and rushed for one in a blowout win over Northridge to open region play. Davis outscored Northridge 44-7 in the first three quarters. David Spjut collected two touchdown catches for the Darts. Colby Browning found Andres Esparza for both of Northridges’ touchdowns.
Weber 35 at Clearfield 7
Weber scored all 35 points in the first half before Clearfield scored their only touchdown in the fourth quarter. Quarterback Kohl Hogan accounted for three of the five touchdowns, two passes and one rushing score.
Non-Region
Cottonwood 0 at Copper Hills 49
Cody Lazenby threw one touchdown pass, while Zeth Hein and Marley Manuha each had two rushing touchdowns. Solos Pei and and Zak Rowley each found the end zone once in the shutout win for the Grizzlies.
Hillcrest 3 at West Jordan 49
The Jaguars had 42 points in the first half, while holding Hillcrest to just three points. David Moctezuma had a punt return and a receiving touchdown. Isaiah Lapale ran in three touchdowns, Boston Farmer threw two touchdowns and ran in one more in the dominant win.
Mountain Ridge 0 at Riverton 50
Quarterback Jaxon Howard threw one touchdown and ran in another one, with both Carter Miller and Ryan Gannaway each hauling in a receiving touchdown as the Silverwolves shutout Mountain Ridge.
Pleasant Grove 28 at Jordan 20
The Vikings took the lead in the first quarter when Caleb Campbell found Jaedyn Maldonado for a touchdown, but Jordan answered with Kadius Fiumaono connecting with Nate Hanson for a touchdown. Campbell comes up big before halftime, throwing to Kael Mikkelsen to give PG the lead at the break. Jordan tied the game at 14 but Rex Connors sealed it for the Vikings.

Sierra Vista, Nevada 7 at Skyridge 56
Skyridge scored all 56 points before Sierra Vista found the end zone late in the game. Quarterback Emmett Call threw six touchdown passes. Dylan Samuels, Jack Hadfield and James Palmer each had two receiving touchdowns, with Sawyer Winward finding the end zone once in the win.
Westlake 24 at Hunter 14
Westlake jumped out to a 24-0 lead entering the fourth quarter, but Hunter couldn’t recover in time. Brayden Ross threw two touchdown passes to Jett Vance, while Cristian Resendiz returned a kickoff. DaiSean Cash ran in a 93-yard touchdown, while also connecting with Nathan Suaste on a 4-yard touchdown for Hunter.
