ANAHEIM, Calif. – Former Utah Jazz guard Ricky Rubio supported his old teammate Donovan Mitchell by wearing his signature Adidas D.O.N. Issue #1 sneaker.
The Spanish national team faced the United States in an exhibition game in Anaheim, California as both teams prepare to compete in the FIBA World Cup in China in September.
Team USA beat Spain 90-81. Rubio had 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 steals in the loss.
Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell recorded 13 points and 4 rebounds in 23 minutes of play for the United States.

Rubio has been wearing Mitchell’s signature shoe since he reported to the national team for training camp.
He and Mitchell played together the last two seasons with the Jazz before Utah traded for Mike Conley and Rubio signed with the Phoenix Suns during the off-season.
Both players expect to play critical roles for their teams once they make the trip to China.
Former Ute Kyle Kuzma played in the exhibition game for the United States, scoring 7 points, pulling down 5 rebounds and dishing out 3 assists.
The United States will now head “down under” to face Joe Ingles and the Australian national team on August 22 at 3:30 a.m. on NBA TV.
