TACOMA, Wash. – Utah Royals FC forward Katie Stengel gave the visiting side a big advantage with a goal in the opening moments against Reign FC.
The Royals took a very early lead with the goal coming in the third minute of play.
The goal was set up by Amy Rodriguez who controlled possession on the right hand side and was slaloming through two Reign defenders and fired the shot from 5 yards out. The ball hit the keeper and bounced off the crossbar before Stengal tapped the ball in for a goal.
It’s the first goal this season for Stengal, who is in her sixth season as a professional and her second season with the Royals.
