METAIRIE, La. – What can Taysom Hill not do? The swiss army knife of the New Orleans Saints can play quarterback, he can line up at tight end, running back, or even return kicks on special teams. Taysom Hill can do it all.
On Monday, we learned that Taysom can also get buckets in basketball. Say what?
The NBA’s New Orleans Pelicans showed up to Saints Training Camp and captured the former BYU football star getting buckets. Watch for yourself Taysom Hill knocking down a long-range shot, and he did it on the practice turf at the Saints practice facility.

Folks in the big easy are excited about the new Pelicans squad headlined by Zion Williamson. Williamson joined the Pelicans at Saints practice on Monday. But imagine Taysom Hill, who was a dual-sport star at Highland High School in Pocatello, Idaho, paired up with Zion. 10-day contract anyone?

Who’s the next Taysom Hill?
A popular talking point in NFL circles this training camp season has been, who will be the next Taysom Hill? Honestly, I think we can put that question to rest because there isn’t another Taysom Hill.
Hill is entering his third season with the Saints and this fall he expects to play a larger number of snaps then he did last year. In 2018, Hill played 20 percent of the Saints’ offensive snaps. Hill’s goal has always been to be a starting quarterback in the NFL, but for now, he’s making his impact in a variety of ways for head coach Sean Payton.
The only thing Hill possibly struggles is in made up contests by his teammate and future NFL Hall of Famer Drew Brees. Last week, Brees, who holds an annual competition between him and his quarterback teammates had a Mario Kart themed quarterback challenge. Taysom struggled by missing on all three of the targets he was throwing at.

The Saints open up their pre-season schedule on Friday, August 9th against the Minnesota Vikings in New Orleans. We will have to see if Hill gets more opportunities to play quarterback for the Saints.
