HENDERSON, Nev. – The Mountain West Conference announced their new bowl game lineup that will begin during the 2020 season.

They will provide of to nine potential bowl opportunities for its member institutions.

The new lineup will run through the 2025-26 season and added an additional bowl game that will be held in the new stadium in Los Angeles, which will serve as the home of the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams and Chargers.

The new bowl in LA, which is expected to be named at a future date, will have the first selection from the Mountain West. They will face a Pac-12 opponent.

The conference has six guaranteed bowl berths in the new cycle in accordance with NCAA parameters, which includes the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl (Boise, Idaho), New Mexico Bowl (Albuquerque, N.M.), NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl (Tuscon, Ariz.), SoFi Hawai’i Bowl (Honolulu) and an ESPN Events-operated bowl game, likely to be held in the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex.

The Mountain West has also partnered with the Cheez-It Bowl in Phoenix and another bowl to be announced in the near future. They will provide a representative to one of these events if their primary partners are unable to fill one of the slots.

All the MW bowl agreements are in addition to the College Football Playoff and its other New Year’s Bowls.

“We’re very pleased with our bowl lineup for the next cycle,” MW Commissioner Craig Thompson said. “We feel we have an exceptional group of bowl partners. We’re adding a game at the new, state-of-the-art stadium in Los Angeles, which is very exciting. Plus, we’ll be in some familiar locations with many long-time bowl partners. These partnerships are going to provide the Mountain West with attractive bowl destinations, exciting matchups and an improved financial situation for our members.”
