HENDERSON, Nev. – The Mountain West Conference released their preseason poll ahead of the start of their two media days in Henderson, Nevada.

The Utah State Aggies were picked to finish second in the Mountain Division behind Boise State.

The Broncos garnered 15 first place votes and earned a total of 120 points. They went 7-1 in league play last season and won the Mountain Division.

Utah State received the other six first place votes and 108 points for second place in the preseason poll. Air Force (73) finished third, followed by Wyoming (66), Colorado State (52) and New Mexico (22).

In the West Division, the defending conference champions Fresno State was picked to win the division, collecting 17 first place votes and a total of 122 points. They also went 7-1 in conference play last season and knocked off Boise State in overtime, 19-16 in the conference championship game.

San Diego State (106) was picked to finish second, followed by Nevada (74), Hawaii (67), UNLV (51) and San Jose State (21).

This marks the seventh season of divisional play for the Mountain West, which moved to the two divisions with six teams in each division format in 2013 after the additions of San Jose State and Utah State.

The Mountain West Conference Championship Game will be on December 7 at the home stadium of the divisional champion with the best conference record.
