NEW YORK CITY, New York – Kelley O’Hara of the Utah Royals FC exuberantly hugged a fan and accepted a gift from her during the U.S. Women’s National Team’s ticker tape parade in New York City.
It all started before the parade when O’Hara sent out a tweet telling fans she’d appreciate it if someone could hand her a beverage along the parade route. Temperatures were close to 90 degrees, with humidity just shy of 40 percent.

At the end of the Canyon of Heroes, where City Hall Park is located, one fan was waiting to help O’Hara quench her thirst. After spotting the fan, O’Hara jumped off the float she was on and ran over to hug the fan.
Their interaction was joyous. Afterward, the fan handed over the beverage she’d brought for O’Hara.
A great moment from today's parade — after @kelleymohara tweeted out she'd give bonus points to any fan that brought her a beverage, someone comes through. It's a sign of genuineness from her that I thought is worth sharing. This was toward the end of the Canyon of Heroes. pic.twitter.com/gXbCNivUIe
