Utes Get Commitment From SMU TE Transfer Hunter Thedford

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The University of Utah received a big commitment to help the depth at tight end with the signing of SMU graduate transfer tight end Hunter Thedford.
He will have one season of eligibility remaining and will be able to play in the 2019 season.
Thedford had three catches for 36 yards as a junior at SMU in 2018. He is mostly used as a blocking tight end.

He played in six games in 2017 as a sophomore and in five games as a freshman in 2016.
The Utes return two tight ends from last season in sophomores Brant Kuithe and Cole Fotheringham.
Thedford was a three-star recruit coming out of high school, according to ESPN and was rated as the No. 29 tight end by ESPN.com. He is 6’6 and 260 pounds from Comanche, Texas.
