Former Weber State Star RB Trevyn Smith Passes Away At Age 32

OGDEN, Utah – Weber State University is mourning the loss of former running back Trevyn Smith, who passed away at age 32 on July 4.
Smith attended Weber State from 2006-09 after a successful high school career at Springville, where he led the entire state of Utah in rushing with 2,108 yards on 9.1 yards per carry. He was just the 11th player in Utah high school history at the time to rush over 2,000 yards in a single season.
After being named first team All-State, Smith was awarded the 2004 Old Spice Red Zone Player of the Year for the state of Utah and one of 50 high school players in the country to receive the award.

He was just as good at Weber State, after red-shirting in 2005, Smith started the 2006 season as the third running back on the depth chart before moving to the starting lineup and rushing for 1,129 yards on 205 carries and 8 touchdowns on his way to being named first team All-Big Sky.
In 2007, Smith rushed for over 100 yards in six straight games including a career-high 225 yards against Portland State.
His junior season in 2008, he tied the school and conference record for most touchdowns in a single season with 28.
Smith holds the school rushing record that still stands today.
