LYON, France – After scoring the second goal for the United States Women’s National Team, Alex Morgan mocked England after putting the U.S. up 2-1 over England in the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup semifinal.
Morgan scored in the 31st minute on a fantastic header that was delivered by Lindsey Horan. It’s Morgan’s sixth goal of the World Cup after scoring five goals in the opener against Thailand, helping the U.S. to a 13-0 win.
After her goal against England, Morgan ran to the sideline and pretend to drink tea with her pinkie finger sticking out.

Morgan is celebrating her 30th birthday and would not want a better gift than an appearance in the World Cup Final for the second consecutive tournament after the USWNT won the World Cup in 2015.
The U.S. took a 2-1 lead at halftime after Utah Royals FC striker Christen Press scored the first goal in the 10th minute off of a great ball played into the box by Royals teammate Kelley O’Hara.
England equalized in the 19th minute when Ellen White scored.
Morgan broke the tie and would send the U.S. to the Final if the result holds. The winner of this match will face the winner of the Netherlands and Sweden in the Final on Sunday.
