USU’s Sam Merrill To Participate In CP3 Elite Guard Camp

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State senior guard Sam Merrill will join 14 other college basketball guards in the CP3 Elite Guard Camp from July 18-21, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
The camp annually features the top-30 high school point guards from around the country and the top-15 guards in college basketball for an intense three-day training camp with Houston Rockets guard Chris Paul.
Players are tutored by Paul on everything from skill development to film breakdown to life skills.

Notable players to have participated in this camp include Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry, Indiana Pacers’ Victor Oladipo, Portland Trail Blazers guard C.J. McCollum, Washington Wizards’ Bradley Beal and Boston Celtics guard Kemba Walker.
It’s the 10th year that Paul has hosted the camp.
Merrill was the 2019 Mountain West Conference Player of the Year and tournament MVP after averaging 20.9 points per game. He finished the 2018-19 season with 731 points, which is fifth-most in a single season in Utah State history.
After the season, Merrill was named third team All-American by Stadium, an Associated Press honorable mention All-American and first team All-Mountain West.
This upcoming season, Merrill could become just the fourth Utah State player in the history of the program to score 2,000 career points. He is currently sitting with 1,568 points.
