Salt Lake Bees’ Taylor Ward Named To Triple-A All-Star Team

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Salt Lake Bees outfielder Taylor Ward will represent his team in the 2019 Triple-A All-Star Game in El Paso, Texas.
Ward earned the selection from the Pacific Coast League thanks to a strong start to the 2019 season for the Bees. He ranks in the top-10 in the PCL in several batting categories, including on base percentage, slugging percentage, OPS and walks drawn.
He also already has a career high in home runs with 16 dingers this season which is the second-highest mark on the Bees.
Top 10 in the PCL in OBP, SLG, OPS and BB to go along with a career-high 16 homers.

Drafted by the Bees’ parent club, the Los Angeles Angels, in 2015, Ward has already spent some time in the majors. He made his big-league debut on August 14, 2018 and played in 40 games for L.A. in 2018 and six games in 2019.
He began his professional career with the Orem Owlz in 2015.
The Bees currently sit in third place in the PCL’s Pacific Southern division with a 35-42 record. The team is on pace to break the franchise home run record of 185 blasts with 120 home runs so far this season.

The Triple-A All-Star Game, which pits the All-Stars from the Pacific Coast League against the All-Stars from the International League, will take place on July 10 at 7 p.m. from Southwest University Park in El Paso and be broadcast on MLB Network.
