SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah native Zac Blair had a tough time on the links at the U.S. Open but was still able to keep a good sense of humor about it all.
Missing the cut after two rounds, Blair found himself near the bottom of the leaderboard with a score of 13-over. His first round was especially disastrous as he shot 12-over in an 18-hole session that included four double bogeys and six bogeys.
His second round was much better as he finished on Friday with a score of 1-over but it wasn’t enough to put him into playing on the weekend at Pebble Beach.
Despite it all, Blair kept things lighthearted when talking about his tough week on Twitter.
I guess there are worse places to shoot 83 #vaporized

Blair was born in Salt Lake City and played for BYU’s golf team from 2009-13. He makes his current residence in St. George. Blair was a card-carrying member of the PGA Tour from 2015-18 and has been working to reclaim Tour status since his demotion to the Web.com Tour after a disappointing 2018 campaign.
Fellow Utahn Tony Finau also missed the cut at the U.S. Open with a two-round score of 4-over.
