Mitchell, Lillard, Kuzma To Attend 2019 USA Basketball Training Camp

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – USA Basketball announced their 20-man roster that will participate in training camp from August 5-9 in Las Vegas in preparation for the FIBA World Cup in China.
Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell, former Weber State and current Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard and former Utah and current Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma accepted the invitation to attend the training camp.
Mitchell averaged a career-best 23.8 points this past season in his second NBA season with the Jazz.
Kuzma finished his second NBA season with the Los Angeles Lakers and averaged 18.7 points and 5.5 rebounds per game, while shooting 45 percent from the field and 30 percent from downtown.
Lillard wrapped up his seventh season in the league, all with the Portland Trail Blazers. He recorded 25.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 6.9 assists per game. The Blazers were swept in the Conference Finals by the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Playoffs.

Joining the three players with Utah ties at the USA Basketball Training Camp includes Sacramento Kings forward Harrison Barnes, Bradley Beal of the Washington Wizards, New Orleans Pelicans big man Anthony Davis, Andre Drummond of the Detroit Pistons, Houston Rockets guards Eric Gordon and James Harden.
Also, Philadelphia 76ers forward Tobias Harris, Kevin Love of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry, C.J. McCollum of the Portland Trail Blazers, Milwaukee Bucks forward Khris Middleton, Myles Turner of the Indiana Pacers, Kemba Walker of the Charlotte Hornets, Milwaukee Bucks center Brook Lopez, former Jazzman and current Denver Nuggets forward Paul Millsap, Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum and P.J. Tucker of the Houston Rockets.

“We’re pleased with the players who will be attending the 2019 USA Basketball National Team Training Camp, and we feel we will be able to select a strong team for the 2019 FIBA World Cup,” said Colangelo. “The majority of these players possess prior USA Basketball experience, and we know all of them are committed to representing their country and doing so in the manner expected by USA Basketball.”
San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich will be the head coach with Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, Atlanta Hawks head coach Lloyd Pierce and Villanova head coach Jay Wright serving as assistant coaches.
“I am excited about getting to training camp in August and working with all of the players that have been selected to attend the USA National Team training camp in Las Vegas,” said Popovich. “We’ve got an excellent cross-section of veteran USA Basketball and NBA players, as well as some exciting younger players who possess amazing versatility.”
