RSL Forward Corey Baird Left Off Gold Cup Roster

SANDY, Utah – United States Men’s National Team head coach Gregg Berhalter finalized his 23-man roster that will participate in the CONCACAF Gold Cup. Real Salt Lake forward Corey Baird did not make the roster.
He could still join the team as an injury replacement as they would have to have been on the preliminary 40-man roster.
The United States will have six strikers that were called up, which includes Toronto FC’s Jozy Altidore, D.C. United forward Paul Arriola, Tyler Boyd from Vitoria Guimares, Colorado Rapids striker Jonathan Lewis, Seattle Sounders’ Jordan Morris and Gyasi Zardes from the Columbus Crew.

Baird has three appearances with the national team and has recorded an assist. The 23-year old RSL academy product is in his second season with Real Salt Lake and has scored 9 goals in 45 matches. He has notched one goal so far this season.
The U.S. will face Guyana in Minnesota on June 18th, Trinidad and Tobago in Cleveland on June 22 and Panama in Kansas City on June 26 in the group state of the Gold Cup.
Real Salt Lake will host LAFC in the fourth round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Tuesday at 8 p.m.
