Ja Morant’s Knee Scope Could Affect Salt Lake City Summer League

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – NBA Draft prospect and projected No. 2 overall pick Ja Morant will undergo a minor scope on his right knee. He is expected to be fully recovered in three to four weeks.
This could affect the Salt Lake City Summer League with Morant more than likely being selected by the Memphis Grizzlies with the No. 2 overall pick. The Grizzlies are one of the four teams to participate in the Summer League at Vivint Smart Home Arena.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Morant will have the minor scope on Monday, June 3. The Summer League in Utah begins on July 1.

It is a cause for concern for fans in the state that were looking forward to watching him and the possibility that he will be held out of the Salt Lake City Summer League, but participate in the Summer League in Las Vegas later in July.
All isn’t lost if Morant doesn’t play, one of the other participants, the Cleveland Cavaliers will have the No. 5 overall pick in the NBA Draft on June 20.

Morant is projected to be taken behind Duke Star Zion Williamson. The sophomore averaged 24.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 10 assists per game with Murray State.
