SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Early on in the 2019 college football schedule, the betting odds makers have mixed feelings about Utah and consider BYU to be outmatched in several games.
According to FanDuel’s sportsbook, Utah is favored by six points in the opening season matchup against BYU, putting the Utes’ odds at -110.
In the next game that BYU is on the odds sheet, the Cougars’ September 21 contest against Washington, the Huskies are favored by eight points.
When BYU faces Boise State on October 19, the bookmakers give the Broncos a slight advantage, favoring them by two points.

Utah will have their turn against Washington on November 2, but FanDuel is expecting the Huskies to win by 3.5 points.
Last season, both Utah and BYU made bowl games but had very different seasons. The Utes finished with a 9-5 record with a berth in the Pac-12 Championship game, which they lost to Washington and then moved on to play in the Holiday Bowl, where they were defeated by Northwestern. They also lost to Washington earlier in the season.
BYU wrapped up the season with a 7-5 record and a win over Western Michigan in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. They also had losses to Washington, Boise State and Utah last season.
The season opener between Utah and BYU will kick off on August 29 at 8:15 p.m. and be shown on ESPN.
