LOGAN, Utah – Utah State standout center Neemias Queta announced on Twitter that he will return to the Aggies for his sophomore season.
Queta tested the NBA Draft waters by competing at the Combine and working out for several teams to gain feedback on whether or not he should keep his name in the draft.
“It was a great experience to be involved with the NBA Draft combine and it really helped me to now where I need to improve,” Queta said. “We have a really good team coming back and I’m excited to get stronger and get better.”

He worked out for the Utah Jazz, Brooklyn Nets, Indiana Pacers and Detroit Pistons, per reports.
The reigning Mountain West Conference Freshman and Defensive Player of the Year will be back with a talented Utah State squad for the 2019-20 season. They return MWC Player of the Year Sam Merrill as well as Brock Miller, Abel Porter, Diogo Brito and Justin Bean.
The Aggies won the regular season and tournament championships in the conference before losing to Washington in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Head coach Craig Smith is back for his second season at the helm in Logan, who will surely be favorites to repeat in the Mountain West.
“This has been a great process for Neemias. He gained both valuable feedback from NBA personnel and experiences that will help him in the future at Utah State and beyond,” head coach Craig Smith said. “Neemias is a fantastic player, but what sets him apart is his character and what he stands for as a person. I know he loves Utah State University and he can’t wait to get to work.”
