Savarino Scores Game-Winner For RSL In Stoppage Time

SANDY, Utah – Real Salt Lake midfielder Jefferson Savarino hit the goal post earlier in the game, but hit nothing but net in stoppage time to secure a win over Atlanta United.
Just minutes after Albert Rusnak fired a shot that sailed over the goal, RSL regained possession and put the ball in Savarino’s control. After dribbling a bit at the top of the box, Savarino turned and fired the fateful shot on goal.
Atlanta goalkeeper Brad Guzan dove to stop the ball but that was all he could do as it zoomed into the net, sending Rio Tinto Stadium into a frenzy.

It was the third goal of the season for Savarino and arguably the biggest of his MLS career as his 93rd minute strike gave RSL the victory over the reigning MLS Cup champions.
The goal came after Atlanta tied the game up in the 78th minute on a goal by Josef Martinez.
