Rudy Gobert Named Defensive Player Of The Year Finalist

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The NBA announced the three finalists for the Defensive Player of the Year award and the 2018 award winner, Rudy Gobert of the Utah Jazz is once again a finalist.
He joins Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks and Paul George of the Oklahoma City Thunder as the three finalists for the award.
Gobert beat out Joel Embiid for the 2017-18 Defensive Player of the Year award last season.

Gobert finished the regular season averaging 15.9 points, 12.9 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game.
Antetokounmpo posted a 27.7 points, 12.5 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.5 blocks per game average.
Paul George recorded 28 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game this season.
George led the league in steals, while Antetokounmpo finished tied for 31st.
For blocks, Gobert finished third in the league, while Antetokounmpo was 10th best in the NBA.
The league will announced the awards at the annual NBA awards show on Monday, June 24th at 7 p.m. on TNT.
