SUU Qualifies Program-Record 13 Athletes For NCAA Preliminaries

CEDAR CITY, Utah – Southern Utah’s track and field team will send a program-record 13 athletes to the NCAA West Preliminaries in Sacrament, California.
It’s the biggest combined group of men and women in SUU’s track and field history since the NCAA moved to its current West and East regional format.
The Thunderbirds will be represented by eight men and five women.

Two of the athletes will be competing in multiple events. On the men’s side, Devon Montgomery will be running in the 110-meter hurdles and the 400-meter hurdles while on the women’s side, Angie Nickerson will race in the 5,000-meter and 10,000-meter events.
The regional meet will take place May 23-24 at Hornet Stadium on the campus of Sacramento State University.
