RENO, Nev. – Salt Lake Bees infielder Luis Rengifo smashed an inside the park home run against the Reno Aces to give the Bees an 8-3 lead over Reno in the eighth inning.

Rengifo, one of the top prospects in the Los Angeles Angels organization, took a 0-2 pitch off the tall centerfield wall at Greater Nevada Field, and motored around all the bases while the Aces struggled to field the ball off the bounce.

For the Bees, it was the 18th inside the park home run in team history.

Salt Lake went on to win the game 9-3 for the Bees’ third straight victory.

A 22-year old from Venezuela, Rengifo is batting .273 with 12 RBIs and three home runs for the Bees this season. He’s also spent nine games up at the Major League level, where he batted .185 in 27 plate appearances.

So far this season, the Bees are sitting in fourth place in the Triple-A Pacific Coast League Southern Division with a 12-23 record.

The Bees’ roster also includes former BYU and Bingham High star Brennon Lund. In 29 games for Salt Lake this season, Lund is batting .179 with 11 RBIs and two home runs.
