SANDY, Utah – Utah Royals FC forward Amy Rodriguez gave her club a 1-0 lead in the 29th minute against the Houston Dash at Rio Tinto Stadium.
It was just what the Royals needed in the first half. Midfielder Veronica Boquete had a beautiful run to set up the breakaway score as she slalomed through three Houston defenders to deliver the ball to Rodriguez on the breakaway, doing the hard part of the lead up for the score.
It’s the second goal of the season for Rodriguez, coming in consecutive games. She scored her first goal of the season last week against Chicago in their 1-0 win.
