Three Royals To Represent U.S. In 2019 Women’s World Cup

SANDY, Utah – Three players from Utah Royals FC will be competing for the United States in the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.
Becky Sauerbrunn, Kelley O’Hara and Christen Press will all depart for national team duty immediately. They are scheduled to return to the club prior to the end of the National Women’s Soccer League regular season.
“Utah Royals FC are proud when any of our players get called for international duty, but a chance to represent the Stars and Stripes during the World Cup is always a special honor,” Utah Royals FC General Manager Stephanie Lee said. “Congratulations on the honor and reward for their hard work.”

It’s the third World Cup appearance for Sauerbrunn, the second for Press and the first for O’Hara.
The Women’s World Cup will be played from June 7 to July 7 in France. The U.S., winners of three titles, including the most recent Cup in 2015, will play Thailand, Chile and Sweden in Group F.
The Royals will continue their season by hosting the Chicago Red Stars on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Rio Tinto Stadium.
