Ibrahimovic Attempts Apology In RSL Locker Room; Onuoha Declines
LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Moments after the Los Angeles Galaxy defeated Real Salt Lake 2-1 at home, Galaxy superstar striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic went to the RSL locker room to apologize to Nedum Onuoha, but the center back didn’t want any part of it.
The clash started in the 60th minute when Ibrahimovic used his left hand to take down Onuoha with a hard foul that led to the two exchanging words face-to-face and a yellow card going to Ibrahimovic.
It continued in the 78th minute when Ibrahimovic scored the game-winning goal, which he exchanged more words and taunting Onuoha.
Following the match, Ibrahimovic was spotted in the RSL locker room as he attempted to apologize to Onuoha.
But he didn’t accept it.
“He [Ibrahimovic] came in to apologize after the game,” Onuoha said. “From 60 minutes in, he said he was going to hurt me for that game. And this is a guy who is the face of MLS as he calls himself. But this is the way he plays on the field. So, I don’t care if someone says that to me, you don’t say that on the field. I am not going to accept his apology, it’s unacceptable,” he added.
Real Salt Lake will face the LA Galaxy again on September 25 at Rio Tinto Stadium.
