Royals Attendance Tops Real Salt Lake, Orlando Game

SANDY, Utah – Soccer in the state of Utah is in full swing with Real Salt Lake, Real Monarchs and Utah Royals FC and fans have been taking advantage of the home games.
Utah Royals FC of the National Women’s Soccer League started their second season on Saturday and had 18,015 fans at Rio Tinto Stadium as they knocked off the Washington Spirit 1-0 in their home opener.
The previous Saturday, also at Rio Tinto Stadium, Real Salt Lake had 16,770 fans in attendance as they knocked off Orlando City SC 2-1.
Out in Herriman, Utah, the Real Monarchs of the USL Championship had 1,711 fans as they beat San Antonio FC 3-2.
The Royals drew their second largest crowd in club history with the largest being in their inaugural home opener in 2018.

The Royals picked up their win off of a goal by Lo’eau LaBonta, just 10 minutes into the match.
Real Salt Lake has since won two straight games, including the win over Orlando, they beat FC Cincinnati on the road 3-0.
It’s the first time in history that all three clubs, Real Salt Lake, Real Monarchs and Utah Royals FC all won their respective games in the same weekend.
The Royals will travel to the Orlando Pride on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. RSL will travel to the Los Angeles Galaxy on Sunday at 6 p.m. and the Monarchs will face the Austin Bold on the road on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
