American Fork Tops Pleasant Grove To Win 6A State Championship

OGDEN, Utah – After a strong second quarter, the American Fork knocked off Pleasant Grove 66-57 to win the 6A State Championship.
The Cavemen were down by two at the end of the first quarter but outscored the Vikings 15-9 in the second quarter to take a 31-25 lead at halftime.
American Fork carried the momentum in the third quarter with a 20-point quarter and holding Pleasant Grove to 14 points.
The Vikings comeback came up short as they only outscored the Cavemen by one point in the final quarter.

As a team, American Fork shot 22-of-50 from the field, while Pleasant Grove made 21 of their 51 shot attempts.
Tanner Cuff and Trey Stewart each scored 18 points for the Cavemen. Hayden Franson had 13 points and 5 rebounds, while Isaac Johnson chipped in 10 points and 7 rebounds.
For Pleasant Grove, Casey Brown and Kael Mikkelsen dropped 19 points apiece. Matt Van Komen had 6 points and 10 rebounds.
