Delon Wright Playing Well With New Team

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former Ute Delon Wright has played well since being traded to the Memphis Grizzlies. He has increased his scoring and minutes since the fresh start.

Kyle Kuzma continues to be the second best players on the Lakers, but the fans are starting to hit the panic button on playoff chances.

Damian Lillard has decreased his scoring but is rebounding and dishing out assists to fill the void.

Jakob Poeltl is back to receiving increased minutes in an up and down year in San Antonio.

Former Lone Peak star Frank Jackson is providing a spark off the bench for the Pelicans.

Here’s how the locals did during Week 19 of the NBA season from Wednesday, February 20 to Tuesday, February 26:

Former Utes

Kyle Kuzma – Los Angeles Lakers (29-31)

The Lakers are 1-2 since the All-Star break.

Kyle Kuzma had 18 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 block and 1 steal in their win over the Rockets.

He recorded 16 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists in the Lakers’ loss to the Pelicans.

The former Ute finished the week with 22 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists in their disappointing loss to the Grizzlies.

This season, Kuzma is averaging 19.1 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.

NEXT UP: The Lakers have four games during Week 20. They will begin the week by hosting New Orleans and Milwaukee before traveling to Phoenix. The Lakers will wrap up the week at home against the Clippers.

 

Jakob Poeltl – San Antonio Spurs (33-29)

The Spurs have struggled since the All-Star break, losing all three of their games.

Jakob Poeltl had a great game against Toronto with 8 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 3 blocks in 17 minutes.

The former Ute had 12 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists in 20 minutes of play in their loss to the Knicks.

Poeltl finished with 7 rebounds, 1 block and 1 steal, but struggled shooting from the field as he went 0-for-7.

This season, Poeltl is averaging 5.2 points and 4.9 rebounds this season.

NEXT UP: The Spurs will play three games during Week 20, with all games at home. They will face Detroit, Oklahoma City and Denver.

 

Delon Wright – Memphis Grizzlies (24-38)

Memphis lost two of their three games since the All-Star break.

Delon Wright started the week with six points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal in the Grizzlies’ loss to the Clippers.

He recorded 15 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steals in 32 minutes of play in their loss to the Cavaliers.

In their win over the Lakers, Wright played 26 minutes while posting 9 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal.

The former Ute is averaging 8.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists in the 8 games played with Memphis. On the season, he is averaging 7.1 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.

NEXT UP: Memphis has four games during Week 20, starting at home against Chicago. They will travel to Dallas and Oklahoma City before hosting Portland.

 

Former Wildcats

Damian Lillard – Portland Trail Blazers (37-23)

The Trail Blazers won all three games during Week 19.

Damian Lillard had 13 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists on 5-of-21 shooting from the field in the Blazers’ win over Brooklyn.

He recorded 17 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists in their 15-point road win against Philadelphia.

Lillard finished the week with 21 points, 4 rebounds, 8 assists and 2 blocks in the Blazers’ win over the Cavaliers.

The former Wildcat is averaging 25.8 points, 6.5 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game this season.

NEXT UP: Portland will play four games during Week 20, all on the road as they finish a seven-game road trip. They will face Boston, Toronto, Charlotte and Memphis.

 

Former High School Standouts

Frank Jackson – New Orleans Pelicans (27-35)

The Pelicans have a 2-1 start since the All-Star break.

The former Lone Peak star, Frank Jackson posted 8 points and 2 assists in 27 minutes as the Pelicans lost to the Indiana Pacers.

In their win over the Lakers, Jackson recorded 5 points and 6 rebounds in 25 minutes of play.

He scored 4 points to go with his 6 rebounds and 2 steals in their loss to the Sixers.

The former Duke Blue Devil is averaging 5.9 points and 1.8 rebounds per game this season.

NEXT UP: The Pelicans will play four games during Week 20, all on the road beginning at LA Lakers. They will face the Phoenix Suns, Denver Nuggets and round out the week in Utah against the Jazz.
