SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – After the 2019 NBA All-Star Game in Charlotte, North Carolina, Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo took to Twitter about the possibility of competing in the 2020 Slam Dunk Contest. If that is the case, Jazz guard and Dunk Contest Champion Donovan Mitchell wants in.
The “Greek Freak” went on Twitter after fans were excited about the dunk that he completed in the All-Star Game when Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors bounced the ball hard on the floor that went above the rim to Antetokounmpo, who slammed the ball down to complete the alley-oop.

Mitchell won the dunk contest during his rookie year after some sensational dunks that he performed in Los Angeles. This season, he decided to not defend his slam dunk title in order to focus on the stretch run of the season with the Jazz. He did play in the Rising Stars Challenge on Friday and recorded 20 points, 9 assists, 7 rebounds and 5 steals in 26 minutes.
Antetokounmpo was the captain of the All-Star Game along with LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers. Team LeBron beat Team Giannis 178-164, Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant took home the MVP award after scoring 31 points. Antetokounmpo had 38 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists.
He is currently the league leader in dunks this season with 206, Jazz center Rudy Gobert is on his tail with 201 dunks. Both players are well on track to break the record for the most dunks in a single season that is held by Dwight Howard, when he had 269 in the 2007-08 season.
