OGDEN, Utah – The Weber State Wildcats got back to winning ways with a 75-65 victory over Sacramento State.

The win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Wildcats, who had fallen to Montana and Portland State in previous games.

The Wildcats now have an 8-3 record in conference play with an 14-8 record overall.

Wildcats Coast To Win In Second Half

The two teams played back and forth basketball to start the game. Sacramento State held a slight 18-17 at the 10-minute mark of the first half. Weber State’s Israel Barnes hit a 3-pointer to take the lead at 20-18. The Wildcats would not trail again in the game. They built as much as an 11-point lead in the first half, which was the difference at halftime with Weber State leading 42-31 at the break.

Weber State’s lead climbed to 21 in the second half on a made layup by Michal Kozak with 11:14 remaining in the game.

Sacramento State whittled the lead down to five with two minutes remaining but Jerrick Harding sealed the game for Weber State by scoring all seven of the Wildcats’ final points in the game.

Harding was the game’s high scorer with 25 points on 50 percent shooting.

The Wildcats took advantage of their chances at the free throw line, going a perfect 13-for-13 at the charity stripe.
