No. 14 Utes Fall To No. 4 Oregon After Poor Fourth Quarter

EUGENE, Oreg. – In a battle of two top 15 teams, No. 14-ranked Utah fell to the No. 4-ranked Oregon Ducks 87-65.
The Utes played poorly in the first and final quarters as the Ducks handed Utah its second loss of the season.
Oregon advanced to 19-1 overall with a perfect 8-0 record in conference play.

Bad Start, Bad Finish
Oregon held Utah to just 11 points in the opening quarter while building a 22-11 advantage.
Utah responded by outscoring Oregon 16-15 in the second, but still trailed by a considerable 10-point difference at halftime.
The Utes mounted a comeback in the third and briefly led at 56-54 after a layup by Dre’Una Edwards with 57 seconds left in the quarter.

Unfortunately for the Utes, it seemed they ran out of steam in the final period as the Ducks outscored them 27-9 in the final 10 minutes of play.
By The Numbers
The Ducks were able to overcome 38 points by Utah forward Megan Huff, who also completed the double-double with 11 rebounds. Huff also knocked down six 3-pointers in the loss.

Oregon was taken to victory by a complete team effort in which six Ducks finished in double figures.

The Utes will next face another top ten team when they travel to face No. 9 Oregon State Sunday at 1 p.m. The game will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Network.
