SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – For shedding tears while discussing his mother’s reaction to his All-Star Game snub, Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert has been the target of ridicule from a few NBA stars.
Most notably, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green sent a sarcastic tweet making fun of the Jazz center for becoming emotional when describing a conversation with his mother.
I guess I should cry too… no Charlotte? 😢😢😢

Interestingly, Green described becoming emotional when his mother informed him that he made the All-Star team back in 2015.
How quickly Draymond Green forgets his reaction to his first All-Star selection. 'Nearly in tears' and 'it means a lot' when you get in and your mom tells you, but Rudy Gobert can't be in tears or have it mean a lot when he doesn't get in and his mom talks to him about it? pic.twitter.com/ig3qcXTZVe

Green’s teammate, Andre Iguodala, also joined in on mocking Gobert on Twitter.
He gone cry in the car?

The Denver Nuggets’ Isaiah Thomas also poked fun at Gobert, but issued an apology to the Jazz center a little bit later.
Come on fam you are too big to be crying like that…

I guess that was too soon lol.

Fans Stand Up For Gobert
Jazz fans and fans of the NBA in general did not take kindly to the remarks made by Gobert’s on-court rivals and let their displeasure be heard on social media.
The best leaders are vulnerable. The best leaders are real. Real men (and women) cry. Those are the leaders you run through walls for. I can’t be there tonight , but I expect #JazzNation to run through that wall for @rudygobert27. 👊🏼❤️✊🏼 #TeamIsEverything

So @Money23Green lost a game to the Cavs, went to his car and cried.
Then called Kevin Durant and begged him to come to the bay.
Rudy tears up talking about how mom mother called him crying last night.
But sure Dray, let's dunk on Rudy for that.

Draymond Green, you are something else.
Oh, and Rudy Gobert is indeed the best defensive player in the NBA.

Y'all are that uncomfortable with seeing a guy cry because he's worked really hard and is upset he won't be selected for #NBAAllStar ???
Rudy Gobert isn't the one who looks fragile here, y'all clowns do— CAUTION IS OUT NOW ⚠️ (@steviescatalog) February 1, 2019
Why is everyone disrespecting Rudy Gobert? Dude Works everyday really hard for something and he is emotional for not getting something he believes he deserves. I respect someone with that emotion and passion towards his craft. REAL MEN CRY….

The fact that Dirk is in the ASG and Rudy Gobert isn't is the most upset I've been at the NBA in years.

Rudy Gobert’s just gotta come out dunking on everyone
