Hot Start Turns Cold
Utah started the game hot and so did the Utes’ Donnie Tillman, who drained his first three triple attempts in the first half to help Utah build a 14 point lead.
Despite leading 26-12 after the first 10 minutes, the Utes went cold to end the period, not making a single point in the final 2:21 in the half.
Oregon, on the other hand, heated up going on an 11-0 run to end the half to take a 38-34 lead at halftime.

The Utes managed to cut Oregon’s lead to just one with 14:58 remaining after a pair of free throws by Tillman, but that was as close as they would come as Oregon built a 14-point lead of its own.
Utah sliced the deficit to just four with 20 seconds to go on a 3-pointer by Sedrick Barefield but Oregon’s Payton Pritchard soon put the game out of reach with a pair of free throws to give the Ducks the victory that seemed improbable at the beginning.
With the loss, Utah’s streak of four straight conference wins came to an end. The Utes fell to 5-3 in conference play and 11-9 overall.
Tillman and Barefield both led the Utes with 16 points while Will Richardson paced the Ducks with 19 points.
Sedrick Barefield just moved into Utah’s Top-10 list for all-time 3-pointers made. He now has 145 in his career, tied with Dakarai Tucker (2012-15) and Mark Rydalch (1992-96). #GoUtes🏀🔴 | #Pac12Hoops pic.twitter.com/hb1BoomtU4
