PROVO, Utah – After winning four big matches at their home venue in the NCAA tournament, the BYU women’s volleyball will head to the Final Four in Minneapolis.
On Thursday, they’ll meet No. 1 seeded Stanford in the semifinals for the right to play in the finals for the national championship.
“I’m so excited for our team,” Olmstead said. “I’m proud of the season they’ve had and put together. I’m happy for the way they’ve been playing. To head into the Final Four playing as well as we have, I don’t think there is anything better than that.”
The Cougars handed Stanford its only loss of the season in a dramatic five-set match on August 31st. Even with that under their belt, the Cougars aren’t looking back, but forward to Thursday’s match.
“I expecting a really good match,” outside hitter Roni Jones-Perry said. “They’re a super good team. I think it will be a different match than it was in August. It’s been a really long time.”
The winner of match will advance to the finals to face the winner of No. 3 Illinois and No. 7 Nebraska.
The match will begin Thursday at 5 p.m. and be broadcast on ESPN.
