Donovan Mitchell Teases New Project With Ties To Rapper Kid Cudi

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – After Utah Jazz phenom Donovan Mitchell posted a cryptic post on Instagram identical to a post by rapper Kid Cudi, it has been revealed that the basketball star and the musician have joined forces to create a positive impact in their communities.
The video posted Wednesday by Mitchell was made to sound like an old school answering machine, over graphics of colorful lines that form an asterisk. The video ended saying “STAY TUNED,” and finished with the hashtag, #AsteriskCollective.

It was nearly identical to a tweet send by Scott Mescudi, as known as rapper Kid Cudi, 72 hours earlier.

After searching the hashtag, #AsteriskCollective, KSL Sports learned that the project is a joint effort from Mescudi, Mitchell and four other athletes and musicians to form The Asterisk Collective, in collaboration with Foot Locker and Adidas.
Out To Creative Positive Change
According to The Asterisk Collective webpage on Foot Locker’s website, the group is “composed of six creators connected with a mission to encourage, empower and enable individuals with specific communities to make a positive impact and leave a legacy through the lens of creativity.”
Further down the page, each creator has stated their “mission.”
Mitchell’s mission relates to forming a movement of random kindness, something that has Mitchell has famously done throughout the local area.
Mescudi’s mission is to assist youth with emotional and developmental challenges by giving them a creative outlet.
The other creators include musicians Raury and H.E.R. and athletes Candace Parker and Patrick Mahomes.
