Ute Receiver Britain Covey Will Miss Holiday Bowl With Injury

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Due to an injury he suffered in the Pac-12 Championship Game, Utah wide receiver and return specialist Britain Covey will miss the Utes’ bowl game.
After a big hit he took on the opening kickoff of the second half, Covey was sidelined with a knee injury. He was taken to the locker and returned to watch the end of the game on crutches.

No details on the extent of the knee injury have been given, but it is believed to be significant.
Covey, who returned this season after a two-year church mission, was honored as a first-team All-Pac-12 Conference return specialist on Tuesday.
He was responsible for 809 yards from scrimmage this season and 211 punt return yards as well as 144 kick return yards.
The Utes play Northwestern in the Holiday Bowl in San Diego on December 31 at 5 p.m. The game will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1.
