SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – As he confidently stated in a preseason interview with KSL Sports in the preseason, Joe Ingles believes he’s “the best shooter in the league.” Soon, he’ll be able to say he’s the greatest 3-point shooter in Utah Jazz history.
With the addition of Kyle Korver, Joe Ingles says they’ve now “got the two best shooters.” However, Ingles called him “old as hell” at 37. 😂 Still he respects the veteran for doing what he does in Year 16. pic.twitter.com/4q4DUJXi6r

In Friday’s win at Charlotte, Ingles passed Jazz great Darrell Griffith for fourth all-time in 3-pointers made in a Jazz uniform with 532. Next on the list is Bryon Russell, who has a career mark of 540. Depending on how things go, it’s likely that Ingles will pass Russell sometime this month. The all-time leader, John Stockton, sits at the top of the list with 845 3-pointers made.

Ingles holds a career average of 1.5 3-pointers made per game. If he continues at that rate, he’ll pass Stockton in 209 games, which is about 2.5 seasons away.
The thing is, Ingles might pass that milestone even sooner. Last season, he set a Jazz single-season record with 204 made 3-pointers made. It’s not crazy to think he could hit the 200 mark again. Trailing Stockton by 313 made threes, Ingles could reach legendary status with the Jazz less than two seasons from now.
Just imagine what he’ll say then.
