Utah Rises, Utah State Falls Out In Latest Rankings

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Utes moved up and the Utah State Aggies fell out in the latest edition of the college football rankings.
After a thrilling 35-27 comeback victory over longtime rival BYU, the Utes moved up one spot to 17th in the AP Poll. Utah stood pat at 17th in the Coaches Poll.
After a disappointing 33-24 loss on the road to Boise State, Utah State dropped from 14th to the outside of the rankings. On the outside looking in, the Aggies received the most votes of any unranked team. They remained in the top 25 in the Coaches Poll, landing at 24th after a nine-spot drop.
Utah will next play in the Pac-12 Championship Game against Washington Friday in Santa Clara, Calif.
Utah State’s next game will next likely be in a bowl game.
