SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Free agent Major League Baseball star Bryce Harper made Utah fans very happy during his guest selection segment on ESPN’s College GameDay.
While picking the winners of Saturday’s college football action, Harper said “Anytime I can root against BYU, I do it,” prior to predicting a Utah victory over the Cougars.
The most emotional, inflammatory comments on the #BYUvsUTAH rivalry in 2018 belong to Bryce Harper. Just as we all expected. #RivalryWeek pic.twitter.com/wxY1K6O6UO

Harper, a Las Vegas native, is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints but has said in the past that he is not a fan of Brigham Young University.
The rest of the GameDay hosts including Desmond Howard, Rece Davis, Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit all picked Utah to win over BYU as well.
The contest between the Utes and the Cougars will kick off Saturday at 8 p.m. from Rice-Eccles Stadium. It will be broadcast on FS1.
