WEBER STATE WILDCATS
Davis Powers Wildcats Past SUU
CEDAR CITY, Utah – The No. 3-ranked Weber State Wildcats picked up their fifth straight victory with a 31-19 win against the SUU Thunderbirds.
Freshman sensation Josh Davis had a spectacular day, picking up 225 yards with a pair of touchdowns in the win. Thanks to Davis, the Wildcats more than doubled the rushing effort by SUU 238 to 111.
Weber State struck first on with a 14-yard touchdown pass from Jake Constantine. The Thunderbirds answered with an 8-yard by Jay Green just before the end of the first quarter. They could have tied, but the point after attempt by Manny Berz was no good.
Davis provided an electrifying 44-yard rushing touchdown to start the second quarter. SUU immediated responded with a 100-yard kickoff return by Judd Cockett. Again, the PAT was missed.
The Wildcats extended their lead to 21-12 with a nine yard rush by Clay Moss, followed by another score by Davis.
The Thunderbirds found the end zone one more time on a one yard pass from Austin Ewing to Landen Measom.
Weber State will wrap up their regular season schedule with a road game at Idaho State on Nov. 17th. SUU’s season will conclude with a road game at Cal Poly on Nov. 17th as well.
