SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Reports indicate that Toronto Raptors star forward Kawhi Leonard will be out for Monday’s game against the Utah Jazz.
Leonard’s absence should be make things easier for the Jazz, who are going to play without Donovan Mitchell. The Jazz guard is out with an ankle injury that he suffered in Saturday’s loss at Denver.
OG Anunoby will start in place of Leonard, who is averaging 26.1 points per game. Leonard also missed Sunday’s 121-107 win over the Los Angeles Lakers. Anunoby, a second year player like Mitchell, has made two starts this year. In the game against the Lakers, he scored seven points on 3-of-9 shooting.
The situation could be advantageous for a Jazz win on Monday night. The Raptors are playing the second game of a back-to-back and are playing at altitude at Vivint SmartHome Arena. The Jazz are currently on a three-game losing streak.
The game will tip off at 7 p.m. and be broadcast on AT&T SportsNet.
