SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz scored a season-low 15 points in the first quarter in the team’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Jazz played the Thunder on Saturday, August 1, at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida. It was Utah’s second game of the NBA’s restart of the 2019-20 season.

Not only was Utah’s 15 points the lowest total for an opening quarter this season, but it was also the team’s lowest point total for any quarter of a game this season.

It was also the best defensive opening quarter by the Thunder this season.

Prior to the Jazz vs. Thunder game, Utah had played 65 games and posted a 42-23 record.

At the end of the first 12 minutes of action, Oklahoma City led Utah 29-15.

Forward Danilo Gallinari led the Thunder with 11 points on 4-6 shooting, including 2-3 from three.

OKC outshot Utah in the first quarter by shooting 52.9 percent overall compared to 33.3 percent from the field by the Jazz. Utah was a dismal 1-7 from downtown for 16.7 percent. The Thunder shot 4-8 for 50 percent from downtown.

Oklahoma City was able to get out and run the floor for 10 fast break points. Utah had zero fast break points in the quarter.

The Jazz were led by Rudy Gobert’s 6 points on 3-4 field goals. The center added 2 rebounds and 2 steals in 11 minutes on the court.

Utah’s game against Oklahoma City is broadcast on ESPN, AT&T SportsNet, and 97.5 FM.
