Talen Horton-Tucker Hits Half-Court Shot At Buzzer

,SALT LAKE CITY – Talen Horton-Tucker pulled up from half-court at the end of the first quarter against the 76ers.
The buzzer-beater was Horton-Tucker’s first points.

In a game where the Jazz were down more than 15 at the end of the first, the three from Horton-Tucker gave the Jazz some much needed momentum.

The Jazz (22-23) are hosting the Philadelphia 76ers (25-16) at Vivint Arena on Saturday, January 14.

Jazz Face Quick Turnaround Against 76ers
The Jazz now have to prepare to face the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night, once again in Salt Lake City.
Philadelphia is in Utah on the first stop of a five-game road trip, looking to avenge an embarrassing loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday night.
The Thunder beat the 76ers 133-114 thanks to 37 points from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Philly was led by Joel Embiid who scored 30 points on 10-17 shooting to go with 10 rebounds.
Embiid had a historic performance against the Jazz the last time these two teams faced off in Philadelphia.

The 76ers superstar scored a career-high 59 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, dished out eight assists, and blocked seven shots to become the first player in NBA history to record those stats in a single game.
Philadelphia outscored the Jazz by 25 in Embiid’s 37 minutes, and were outscored by 18 in the eight minutes he was on the bench.
Of Embiid’s 59 points, 20 came from the free-throw on an eye-popping 24 attempts.
Even with Thursday’s loss, the 7ers have been one of the league’s best teams over the last month and a half. Philadelphia is 13-4 in their last 17 games and own the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference.
Delta Center Returns
On Saturday morning, the Smith Entertainment Group announced that the Utah Jazz home arena was reverting to the Delta Center for the first time since 2006.

Though the rebrand as the Delta Center will come in July, Vivint will remain an integral partner for the Jazz. The tech giant announced it had extended its partnership with the Jazz through 2030.

“The new agreement between Vivint and the Jazz, which will go into effect on July 1, 2023, contains a number of significant provisions. Including, Vivint retaining the rights to its acclaimed courtside suite as well as its current ticket packages throughout the arena.” The company announced in a release.

“Vivint will also continue to have a meaningful presence inside the arena with in-game promotions and advertising packages, on-court digital signage, as well as social media activations and other various public promotional activities.”
The Delta Center naming rights with coincide with the 50th season of basketball for the Jazz.
